How do I set my clock?

How do I connect my iLive player to my television?

Why can I not connect my iPod to my iLive player?

Why can I not hear any audio from my iLive docking system?

How do I use the iPod USB interface?

How do I set my clock?
Press the CLK to the right of your iPod dock on your iLive player. This is also the PLAY/PAUSE button. This will cause your time display to start blinking. Press the HR button (this is also the VOLUME + button) until you have selected the correct hour of time. Make sure to set the correct choice between AM and PM. Press the HR button until you have reached the correct hour and AM/PM selection. To set the minutes place, press the MIN button (this is also the VOLUME - button) until you have reached the correct number of minutes past the hour. Do this while the display is still flashing. If the display stops flashing, press the CLK button again and continue selecting the hours and minutes. When you have the correct time displayed, press the CLK button to set your selected time. Top

How do I connect my iLive player to my television?
There is a video output on the back of your iLive player marked AUDIO VIDEO OUT. However, only on the iPod video model and the iPod photo model will you be able to use a mini-to-composite cable (red, white, and yellow-tipped cable) to connect your iPod to your television. On the Photo iPods, go to Photos. Then, go to the Slideshow Settings. From there, scroll down and set the TV Out option to ON. Make sure that the Output Signal is set to NTSC as well. Go into your Photo Library and select the photos you wish to see on your television screen. This option is right below the TV Out option. On the Video iPods, proceed the same way as the Photo iPods to view your photographs. To view videos, go to Videos. Scroll down to and select Video Settings. From there, scroll down and set the TV Out option to ON. Make sure that the Output Signal is set to NTSC as well. You may want to turn the Widescreen option to Off if you do not have a widescreen television. Top

Why can I not connect my iPod to my iLive player?
With an iPod shuffle, there is not a USB port with which you can charge your iPod. You can connect the iPod shuffle by using an Auxiliary Line-In cord not provided in the packaging of this model. Insert one end into the headphone jack of your iPod and the other end into AUX IN port on the back of your iLive player. You may do the same with any other type of mp3 player. Top

Why can I not hear any audio from my iLive docking system?
When the Auxiliary Line-In Cord is inserted into the AUX IN port you will not be able to hear your iPod. Make sure to detach this cable before using your iPod. Conversely, you will need this cable to be connected in order to use your iPod shuffle. You will need to have the player in AUX mode to hear an iPod shuffle or an mp3 player other than an iPod. Also, there is a Volume Limit option in the Settings menu of your iPod. Make sure that this maximum volume is set to a range that will be audible. Be careful when adjusting your volume level. Higher decibel levels at close range may put you at risk for hearing damage. Top

How do I use the iPod USB interface?
The purpose of this function is to provide a way to edit the file content of your iPod without removing it from the dock of your iLive player. To use this function, connect a USB cable from your computer to the port marked with a "USB" on the back of your iLive player. You may edit the files on your iPod once the cable is connected to your computer. Do not disconnect in the middle of transferring files as this may damage any files you add. After you are finished editing the files to be played on your iPod, make sure you have properly removed the device from your computer. Also, remember to disconnect your USB cable so that playback may continue. Top

I have one of the new iPods (Nano 4th gen. or iTouch 2nd gen.).  Are these compatible with this unit?

The new iPods are compatible and will play on this unit but some of the units can’t charge the iPod.  This is due to recent changes by Apple on new iPods after our unit was released.  The battery life on the new iPods is greatly improved requiring less frequent charging.  We have made changes and updated our units to be able to charge the new iPods; however, some of the older models still in circulation won’t have this charging ability.  Look for the model number on the back of the unit and note the suffix number.  Any model with a suffix number of “E2” or higher has been updated and will charge the new iPods.  For models with no suffix number or E1, these will only play the iPod but won’t charge it.  With these older version iLive units you will need to charge your iPod via the computer using the provided USB cord.  Alternatively, you can purchase an AC adaptor we offer at special savings that will charge your iPod.  Call us at 314-621-2881 and press option 2 for the Parts Dept to order the optional AC adaptor.

I have one of the new iPods (Nano 4th gen., iTouch 2nd gen., or the Classic 120GB).  What bracket do I use?

You don’t need a special bracket for this model since it comes with a self supporting adjusting button.
