How do I connect my iLive player to my television?

Why do the karaoke songs I have purchased from iTunes fail to display the lyrics of my music?

Is my iLive player compatible with the sixth generation iPod classic, third generation iPod nano, and iPod touch?

Why am I unable to use the video output on my sixth generation iPod classic, third generation iPod nano, and iPod touch?

How do I connect my iLive player to my television?
There is a video output on the back of your iLive player. However, only on the iPod video model and the iPod photo model will you be able to use a composite video cable (yellow-tipped cable from the VIDEO OUT port) and a mini to stereo cable (red and white cable from the AUX OUT port) to connect your iPod to your television. On the Photo iPods, go to Photos. Then, go to the Slideshow Settings. From there, scroll down and set the TV Out option to ON. Make sure that the Output Signal is set to NTSC as well. Go into your Photo Library and select the photos you wish to see on your television screen. This option is right below the TV Out option. On the Video iPods, proceed the same way as the Photo iPods to view your photographs. To view videos, go to Videos. Scroll down to and select Video Settings. From there, scroll down and set the TV Out option to ON. Make sure that the Output Signal is set to NTSC as well. You may want to turn the Widescreen option to Off if you do not have a widescreen television. WARNING: The video output using the iPod classic, third generation iPod nano, and the iPod touch is unusable with this product. However, these iPods will still be able to show lyrics on the iPod screens themselves. Top

Why do the karaoke songs I have purchased from iTunes fail to display the lyrics of my music?
The reason your karaoke songs do not display lyrics on your iPod's screen is that you have purchased karaoke music (tracks with the vocals excluded from the song) only, rather than a file that includes a combination of both music and lyrics. Before purchasing karaoke tracks, make sure you are purchasing karaoke music of the mp4 file extension or tracks that have been guaranteed by the distributor as being able to output lyrics to your screen. There are programs available that have the ability to rip your existing CD+G karaoke CDs into music files with the mp4 file extension. Consult a software professional about the availability of these programs. Top

Is my iLive player compatible with the sixth generation iPod classic, third generation iPod nano, and iPod touch?
The sixth generation iPod classic, the third generation iPod nano, and the iPod touch are able to be played and recharged using this iPod docking system. Top

Why am I unable to use the video output on my sixth generation iPod classic, third generation iPod nano, and iPod touch?
These iPod models have a new hardware requirement that prevents the user from enabling the video output. This device does not meet that hardware requirement. Within the video settings, there is an option for TV Out. The fifth generation iPod video and fourth generation iPod with color display would allow you to turn this function On to output the video (or just photos on the fourth generation iPod) from your device to be played on your television. Within these new iPods, this function is not available unless the iPod detects that it is connected to a device that meets this hardware requirement. Top

I have one of the new iPods (Nano 4th gen. or iTouch 2nd gen.).  Are these compatible with this unit?

The new iPods are compatible and will play on this unit but it won’t charge the iPod.  This is due to recent changes by Apple on new iPods after our unit was released.  The battery life on the new iPods is greatly improved requiring less frequent charging.  With this older version iLive unit you will need to charge your iPod via the computer using the provided USB cord.  Alternatively, you can purchase an AC adaptor we offer at special savings that will charge your iPod.  Call us at 314-621-2881 and press option 2 for the Parts Dept to order the optional AC adaptor.

I have one of the new iPods (Nano 4th gen., iTouch 2nd gen., or the Classic 120GB).  What setting should I use on the rotary knob?

Use the following settings on the rotary knob for your iPod:  Nano 4th gen – Nano Rotary Setting, iTouch 2nd gen. – Nano Rotary Setting, Classic 120GB – 30GB Rotary Setting.
