How do I connect my iLive player to my television?
There is a video output on the back of your iLive player. However, only
on the iPod video model and the iPod photo model will you be able to
use a composite video cable (yellow-tipped cable from the VIDEO OUT
port) and a mini to stereo cable (red and white cable from the AUX OUT
port) to connect your iPod to your television. On the Photo iPods, go
to Photos. Then, go to the Slideshow Settings. From there, scroll down
and set the TV Out option to ON. Make sure that the Output Signal is
set to NTSC as well. Go into your Photo Library and select the photos
you wish to see on your television screen. This option is right below
the TV Out option. On the Video iPods, proceed the same way as the
Photo iPods to view your photographs. To view videos, go to Videos.
Scroll down to and select Video Settings. From there, scroll down and
set the TV Out option to ON. Make sure that the Output Signal is set to
NTSC as well. You may want to turn the Widescreen option to Off if you
do not have a widescreen television. Top
Is my iLive player compatible with the sixth generation iPod classic, third generation iPod nano, and iPod touch?
The sixth generation iPod classic and the third generation iPod nano
are able to be played and recharged using this iPod docking system. For
a sixth generation 80GB iPod classic, it is best to use the same dock
position as a 30GB iPod video. For a sixth generation 160GB iPod
classic, it is best to turn to the same dock position as a 60GB/80GB
iPod video. For the third generation iPod nano, the dock position that
will provide the best fit is to used the iPod nano position. For an
iPod touch, it is best to turn the same dock position as an iPod nano. Top
Why am I unable to use the video output on my sixth generation iPod classic, third generation iPod nano, and iPod touch?
These iPod models have a new hardware requirement that prevents the
user from enabling the video output. This device does not meet that
hardware requirement. Within the video settings, there is an option for
TV Out. The fifth generation iPod video and fourth generation iPod with
color display would allow you to turn this function On to output the
video (or just photos on the fourth generation iPod) from your device
to be played on your television. Within these new iPods, this function
is not available unless the iPod detects that it is connected to a
device that meets this hardware requirement. Top
What does the AVC control?
AVC stands for Automatic Voice Control. This knob enables an individual
to change any song on your iPod or ordinary music CD into a karaoke
song. If the knob is turned completely towards the L (low), this
function is disabled. If the knob is turned further to the H (high), it
will block the vocals of the iPod music track or music CD. It will only
block the vocals on these tracks when a user is singing into the
microphone. There will be no difference in the playback of these tracks
if no one is singing into the microphone. Top
I have one of the new iPods (Nano 4th gen. or iTouch
2nd gen.). Are these
compatible with this unit?
The new iPods are compatible and
will play on this unit but it won’t charge the iPod.
This is due to recent changes by Apple on new
iPods after our unit was released.
The
battery life on the new iPods is greatly improved requiring less frequent
charging.
With this older version iLive
unit you will need to charge your iPod via the computer using the provided USB
cord.
Alternatively, you can purchase an
AC adaptor we offer at special savings that will charge your iPod.
Call us at 314-621-2881 and press option 2
for the Parts Dept to order the optional AC adaptor.
