Why am I unable to control the time on my SLEEP function?
    1. Make sure you are pressing the SLEEP button, and then the TUN FWD button to select the number of minutes you will want to delay your IT818B from powering OFF. 2. Press the SLEEP button again to set your chosen time.

How do I set the clock?
    1. Check to see that the power is in the OFF mode. 2. Press the TIME SET/ PLAY button until the hours place of your clock starts blinking. 3. To set the hours place, scroll up or down using the TUNE REV and TUNE FWD buttons. Keep in mind the difference between a.m. and p.m. A.M. hours will not be labeled as a.m. to avoid confusion with the AM radio band. 4. Press the TIME SET/ PLAY button to select the hours place. Then, repeat this step to set the minutes place.

Why can I not control my mp3 player using my remote?
    1. If the mp3 player you are using is not an iPod, your remote will not be able to control your mp3 player.

    2. The two auxiliary inputs are only meant to distribute sound to a left and a right speaker as if they were transferring an audio signal to your headphones.

    3. If you are using an iPod shuffle, you will not be able to control the playback using your remote because the shuffle model does not have the same 30-pin interface that other iPods have.

    4. An iPod shuffle will need to be connected to AUX 1 or AUX 2 like any other mp3 player.

    5. Connect an mp3 player to AUX 1 or AUX 2 on the back of your IT818B, using a 3.5 mm jack to stereo RCA cable.

    6. Press the function button until AV1 or AV2 appears on your display.

    7. If you do not hear it at first, turn up the volume on your mp3 player, and then turn up the volume on your iLive system.

Why can I not connect my iPod to my iLive player?
    1. Check to see that the iPod input dock is centered before you attempt to dock your iPod into your iLive system. This can be done by sliding the interface between your iPod and your iLive system. This gives you a choice between connecting an iPod or an iPod Nano.

    2. The nature of a first or second generation iPod Nano is that it has a 30-pin interface on its bottom which is off-center.

    3. Having an adjustable input provides a way to center both iPod and iPod Nano.

    4. It is recommended that you insert the plastic footing underneath your iPod so that you can make adjustments to your playback, while keeping the player secure.

    5. Make sure to slide the plastic footing firmly in place.

    6. The choice of which docking insert you should use depends upon the type of iPod you have.

    7. Please refer to your instruction manual for a helpful chart to tell which insert goes with which iPod.

    8. To access your instruction manual online, refer to CUSTOMER SERVICE -> DOWNLOADS and select the correct model number.

How do I receive better reception from my AM/FM tuner?
    1. The black wire included with your system is your FM antenna.

    2. Make sure your FM antenna is firmly in the FM ANT port. The black antenna with a rounded shape is your AM antenna.

    3. Clip both parts of the antenna wire into the AM ANT port on the back of your iLive system.

    4. While in the Tuner mode, adjust the position of your antenna until you have reached optimal reception.

    5. This may take some trial and error by moving it back and forth to see which position gives you a clearer sound to your radio.

Why can I not hear any audio from my iLive docking system?
    1. When an auxiliary line-in cord is inserted into the LINE-IN jack (on the right side of your IT818B) you will not be able to hear what is connected to IN2 (on the back of your IT818B).

    2. Both of these input share the same input function of AV2.

    3. To play audio from either of these inputs, press the FUNCTION button until AV2 appears on your LCD screen.

    4. If both inputs have connections with audio players, the LINE-IN jack will have precedence over the IN2 jack.

    5. Make sure to detach the cable connected to LINE-IN before connecting a device to IN2.

    6. You will need an auxiliary line-in cable (3.5 mm mini to stereo RCA cable) to connect an iPod shuffle to this system.

    7. Also, there is a Volume Limit option in the Settings menu of your iPod. Make sure that this maximum volume is set to a range that will be audible. 8. Be careful when adjusting your volume level. Higher decibel levels at close range may put you at risk for hearing damage.

Why am I unable to insert my CD/DVD disks into the iLive player?
    1. Make sure the iLive player is in DVD mode before attempting to insert disks, other wise the disks will not be accepted.

    2. Press the FUNC button until the player is in DVD mode then insert your disks into the player.

Why doesn't video output from my iPod display through the iLive player?
    1. If your iLive player is connected to your television through HDMI, Component, Composite and S-Video connections make sure that your television is set to take the proper video input for the connection.

How can I connect an external device to my IT818B?
    1. To connect an iPod Shuffle or type of MP3 player to your IT818B an auxiliary line-in cable (3.5 mm mini to stereo RCA cable) will be need for connection.

    2. Once the connection is made with the auxiliary cable, then switch the IT818B to auxiliary input by pressing the FUNC button until AUX appears on the display.

    3. The IT818B will not charge your MP3 player while connected to the auxiliary input

    1. To connect an external video device such as a VCR, the device must be connected to the AV1 or AV2 inputs of your IT818B.

    2. RCA Composite (Red, White, and Yellow) cable is used to connect the device to the IT818B.

    3. Once the connection is made, switch the IT818B to AV1 or AV2 input by pressing the FUNC button until AV1 or AV2 appears on the display.

Why am I unable to change categories on my Ipod Touch with the remote of the IT818B, for example switching from music to video?
Switching to different categories on the iPod Touch can not be done with the remote it can only be done by pressing the menu button directly on the Touch.

Why don't I see a picture when I connect my IT818B to my television with a HDMI cable?
    1. The IT818B may not be in the HDMI video setting, it may currently be in Component setting.

    2. To change the video input setting can be done through the SETUP menu or simply press the VIDEO button on the remote until HDMI input is selected.

I have one of the new iPods (Nano 4th gen., iTouch 2nd gen., or the Classic 120GB).  Are these compatible with this unit and what docking insert do I use?

Yes, the new iPods are compatible with this unit.  You should use the bracket that came with your new iPod.  Or, if you prefer, you can substitute the black brackets included with the unit as follows: Nano 4th gen. - # 8, iTouch 2nd gen – # 14, and Classic 120GB – #9.

How do I connect my iLive player to my television to display iPod videos?

Only on the iPod video model and the iPod photo model will you be able to use a composite video (yellow) cable to connect your iPod to your television.

If you are using a HDMI cable to view DVDs you will still need to use the composite video (yellow) cable to view iPod videos in addition to the HDMI cable.

    • On the Photo iPods, go to Photos and go to the Slideshow Settings and scroll down and set the TV Out option to ON. Make sure that the Output Signal is set to NTSC as well.
    • Go into your Photo Library and select the photos you wish to see on your television screen. This option is right below the TV Out option.
    • On the Video iPods, proceed the same way as the Photo iPods to view your photographs.
    • To view videos, go to Videos, scroll down to and select Video Settings.
    • From there, scroll down and set the TV Out option to ON. Make sure that the Output Signal is set to NTSC as well.

I have the TV Out option on my iPod turned on but I don’t see videos on my television.  What am I doing wrong?

If your iLive player is directly connected to your television make sure that your television is set to take the proper video input channel for the connection.  If your iLive player is connected to a VCR make sure that the VCR channel is set to Line-In.

My iPod stopped responding when I try to control it with my remote when it’s docked in my iLive product  What do I do?

This may happen when your iPod or your iLive product freezes.  You will need to reset your iPod and iLive product individually.
    • The reset button on your iLive product is located on the bottom of the model.  Press the button with a paperclip for a second or two to reset your iLive product.
    • To reset iPod models such as Classic, Nano, or Video, press and hold the Menu and Center buttons until the Apple logo appears.
    • To reset the iPod Touch press and hold the Home (□) and Sleep\Wake button until the Apple logo appears.

The audio quality from this bar speaker does not sound the same as the demo at the store where I purchased it.  Why is that?

The default EQ preset of this unit is set to level 5, the EQ level for each speaker, treble, bass and subwoofer can be adjusted individually to your desire by pressing the appropriate button on the remote.

I want to increase the bass and treble level of my speaker but I am not able to do so. Why is that?

The bass and treble levels can only be adjusted when the speaker EQ preset setting is on HD4 Custom setting.

Why don't I see a picture when I connect my IT818B to my television with a HDMI cable?
