How do I set my clock?
Press and hold CLOCK SET on the right side of your iLive player. While holding onto the CLOCK SET button, press the HR button until you have selected the correct hour of time. Make sure to set the correct choice between AM and PM. Press the HR button until you have reached the correct hour and AM/PM selection. To set the minutes place, hold onto the CLOCK SET button and press the MIN button until you have reached the correct number of minutes past the hour. Top

How do I connect my iLive player to my television?
There is a video output on the back of your iLive player. However, only on the iPod video model and the iPod photo model will you be able to use a composite video cable (yellow-tipped cable) to connect your iPod to your television. On the Photo iPods, go to Photos. Then, go to the Slideshow Settings. From there, scroll down and set the TV Out option to ON. Make sure that the Output Signal is set to NTSC as well. Go into your Photo Library and select the photos you wish to see on your television screen. This option is right below the TV Out option. On the Video iPods, proceed the same way as the Photo iPods to view your photographs. To view videos, go to Videos. Scroll down to and select Video Settings. From there, scroll down and set the TV Out option to ON. Make sure that the Output Signal is set to NTSC as well. You may want to turn the Widescreen option to Off if you do not have a widescreen television. Top

Why can I not connect my iPod to my iLive player?
Check to see that the iPod input dock is centered before you attempt to dock your iPod into your iLive player. This can be done by moving the 30-pin iPod interface located in the center of your docking system. Adjusting this interface gives you a choice between connecting an iPod or an iPod nano. The nature of an iPod nano is that it has a 30-pin interface on its bottom which is off-center. An adjustable interface provides a way to center both your iPod and your iPod nano. With an iPod nano, make sure to move the 30-pin interface to the left to match the positioning of the Input/Output port of the iPod nano. With an iPod shuffle, there is no USB port with which you can charge your iPod. You can connect the iPod shuffle by using an Auxiliary Line-In cord not provided in the packaging. Insert one end into the headphone jack of your iPod and the other end into AUX IN port on the back of your iLive player. Top

Why can I not hear any audio from my iLive docking system?
When the Auxiliary Line-In Cord is inserted into the AUX IN port you will not be able to hear your iPod. Make sure to detach this cable before using your iPod. Conversely, you will need this cable to be connected in order to use your iPod shuffle. Also, there is a Volume Limit option in the Settings menu of your iPod. Make sure that this maximum volume is set to a range that will be audible. Be careful when adjusting your volume level. Higher decibel levels at close range may put you at risk for hearing damage. How do I use the docking inserts for my iPod?
It is recommended that you insert an appropriate plastic backing behind your iPod so that you can make adjustments to your iPod's playback, while keeping the player secure. The choice of which plastic backing you should insert your iPod into depends upon the type of iPod you have. (Please note that to insure a proper fitting into your iLive player you must align your iPod's 30-pin interface with your iLive's 30-pin interface.) You should use dock insert 1 for the first generation iPod nano, dock insert 2 for a second generation iPod nano, and dock insert 3 when attaching an iPod mini. The numbers are located at the base of the inserts on their opposite side. The dock insert 4 should be used to attach a 30 GB iPod video. The dock insert 5 should be used with the 60 GB iPod video. The dock insert 6 should be used with the 3rd and 4th generation iPods or iPod: U2 Edition. Check to see that your iPod has its plastic backing in a slot situated in a way that is directly behind your iPod. Top

I have one of the new iPods (Nano 4th gen. or iTouch 2nd gen.). Are these compatible with this unit?

The new iPods are compatible and will play on this unit but some of the units can’t charge the iPod. This is due to recent changes by Apple on new iPods after our unit was released. The battery life on the new iPods is greatly improved requiring less frequent charging. We have made changes and updated our units to be able to charge the new iPods; however, some of the older models still in circulation won’t have this charging ability. Look for the model number on the back of the unit and note the suffix number. Any model with a suffix number of “E2” or higher has been updated and will charge the new iPods. For models with no suffix number or E1, these will only play the iPod but won’t charge it. With these older version iLive units you will need to charge your iPod via the computer using the provided USB cord. Alternatively, you can purchase an AC adaptor we offer at special savings that will charge your iPod. Call us at 314-621-2881 and press option 2 for the Parts Dept to order the optional AC adaptor.

I have one of the new iPods (Nano 4th gen., iTouch 2nd gen., or the Classic 120GB). What bracket do I use?

    Use the following brackets for your iPod: Nano 4th gen - #2, iTouch 2nd gen. - #4, Classic 120GB - #4
