How do you set the clock?

Why does my iPod shuffle not play when I plug it into the iPod shuffle port?

Why is the track number on the display of my iLive player blinking two dashes instead of playing a CD?

Why can I not control my mp3 player using my remote?

How do I connect my iLive player to my television?

How do I use the TIMER function?

How do you set the clock?
Check to see that the power is in the OFF mode. Press and hold the MEM/CLK ADJ button until a blinking display that reads, "12 Hr," reveals itself. This is an option of whether or not you would like your clock to display the standard 12 hour clock or the 24 hour clock commonly used by the military. For example, 1:30 p.m. would read 13:30 and 8:45 p.m. would read 20:45. This is convenient because the designation "p.m." and "a.m." is unnecessary. Choose which mode you would prefer by pressing the REV/TUNE DN and FWD/ TUNE UP buttons. Once you have selected your hour mode of choice press the MEM/CLK ADJ button to select this mode. You will then need to set the hours place. Scroll up or down using the REV/TUNE DN and FWD/ TUNE UP buttons. Press the MEM/CLK ADJ to select the hours place. Then, repeat this step for the minutes place. Top

Why does my iPod shuffle not play when I plug it into the iPod shuffle port?
Check to see that your iPod shuffle is plugged into the port labeled iPOD SHUFFLE. This port only provides a way to charge your iPod shuffle. Next, plug the Auxiliary Line-In Cord (the white cord that has a single input and a single output) connect the headphone jack of your iPod into the port marked AUX on the front of your iLive player. Press the FUNCTION button until you're in the auxiliary mode. The display will read AUX in the upper left-hand corner of your iLive display. Note that you cannot use your remote to control your iPod shuffle. Top

Why is the track number on the display of my iLive player blinking two dashes instead of playing a CD?
Check to see if your CD is flipped upside down. The CD label side should be facing the clock of your iLive player. Also, the CD may be scratched or dirty. There's not much you can do about a scratched disk. They have CD repair kits available at your local electronics supplier. If the disc is dirty, use a soft linen or a store-purchased cloth meant for disc cleaning. Another possibility for this error may be that your iLive player cannot recognize the type of files on your recordable CD. Make sure that the files on your CD-R are in the .wav (uncompressed) format rather than the .mp3 or .wma (compressed) format. This iLive player will not recognize JPEG, mp3, or wma files unless they are played through your iPod or other mp3 player. Top

Why can I not control my mp3 player using my remote?
If the mp3 player you are using is not an iPod, your remote will not be able to control your mp3 player. The auxiliary port (AUX) is only meant to distribute sound to two speakers as if it were transferring an audio signal to your headphones. If you are using an iPod shuffle, you will not be able to control the playback using your remote because the shuffle model does not have the same interface that other iPods have. You are able to charge your first generation iPod shuffle by inserting it into the port marked iPod SHUFFLE. However, you will need to insert an Auxiliary Line-In Cord (not included) into the headphone jack of your iPod shuffle and connect the other end to the AUX port on the front of your iLive player. If you are using a second generation iPod shuffle, your player does not have the same USB interface that the first generation does. You are able to charge your iPod shuffle using your USB cable. The nature of the second generation iPod shuffle limits the user to either use the headphone jack for listening to your iPod or charging your iPod. Your iLive system assumes that same limitation. How do I connect my iLive player to my television?
There is a video output on the back of your iLive player. However, only on the iPod video model and the iPod photo model will you be able to use a composite video cable (yellow-tipped cable) to connect your iPod to your television. On the Photo iPods, go to Photos. Then, go to the Slideshow Settings. From there, scroll down and set the TV Out option to ON. Make sure that the Output Signal is set to NTSC as well. Go into your Photo Library and select the photos you wish to see on your television screen. This option is right below the TV Out option. On the Video iPods, proceed the same way as the Photo iPods to view your photographs. To view videos, go to Videos. Scroll down to and select Video Settings. From there, scroll down and set the TV Out option to ON. Make sure that the Output Signal is set to NTSC as well. You may want to turn the Widescreen option to Off if you do not have a widescreen television. Top

How do I use the TIMER function?
The TIMER function is used to set a time that you would like to have your iLive player turn ON if the iLive system was OFF in the first place. It's also able to set a time you would like the system to turn OFF if it was ON in the first place. To activate this function, press the TIMER button once. To edit the time that your TIMER will turn your system ON, press and hold the TIMER button. Select the hour of the intended time and press TIMER. Then, select the minute of the hour of the intended time and press TIMER. This sets the time for the TIMER ON function. To set the TIMER OFF function, set the intended time you would like your system to shut down. Do this immediately after setting the time within the TIMER ON function. To deactivate this function, press the TIMER button until it disappears from your display. Top

I have one of the new iPods (Nano 4th gen. or iTouch 2nd gen.).  Are these compatible with this unit?

The new iPods are compatible and will play on this unit but it won’t charge the iPod.  This is due to recent changes by Apple on new iPods after our unit was released.  The battery life on the new iPods is greatly improved requiring less frequent charging.  With this older version iLive unit you will need to charge your iPod via the computer using the provided USB cord.  Alternatively, you can purchase an AC adaptor we offer at special savings that will charge your iPod.  Call us at 314-621-2881 and press option 2 for the Parts Dept to order the optional AC adaptor.

I have one of the new iPods (Nano 4th gen., iTouch 2nd gen., or the Classic 120GB).  What bracket do I use?

Use the following brackets for your iPod:  Nano 4th gen – Nano Bracket, iTouch 2nd gen. – Secure Rubber Tabs x 2, Classic 120GB – Secure Rubber Tabs
